Hays Executive was asked to recruit a Procurement Manager for Poland, Germany & Czech Republic for a client, operating in the construction material and road construction businesses owned by a worldwide leader in the extraction industry.
The Procurement Manager directly reports into the Business Director Poland, Germany & Czech Republic.
Solution
Given the profile of the job role, a highly proactive executive search methodology was adopted. Operating on a retained basis, a hybrid approach of executive search was undertaken.
Assisted by our in-house research team, 30 target organisations were identified and selected procurement managers were approached. The responses from the executive search were screened and suitable qualified candidates were interviewed.
Result
A selected shortlist of four qualified candidates for the role was provided within five weeks. After the client conducted a series of interviews, they offered one candidate the Procurement Manager position.
We completed extensive verbal references and helped finalise contracts. The chosen candidate accepted the offer and is currently managing a team of eight.

One of the world’s leading specialists in the field of metal processing for construction industry. Company applies their core competence to sectors and projects as diverse as railways, building construction, sports facilities and arenas, one-off architectural features.
Hays Executive was asked to recruit a Managing Director, Poland for one of the world’s leading specialists in the field of metal processing for the construction industry. We were appointed because of previous successful cooperation with Hays Poland. The Managing Director reports directly to the General Manager of the company in the Netherlands.
Solution
Assisted by the in-house research team, local companies of similar business model were identified and selected managing directors were approached. The responses from the executive search were screened and suitable qualified candidates were interviewed. We identified more than 30 companies with similar business models across Poland and sales and operations managers were approached.
Result
A selected shortlist consisting of seven (three local and four ready to relocate) qualified candidates for the role was provided to the client within six weeks.
After the client conducted a series of interviews and psychometric tests based on our cooperation with SHL, they offered one candidate the Managing Director position. We completed extensive verbal references and helped finalise contracts – the chosen candidate accepted the offer.
Case Study Three
Hays Executive was asked to comprehensively map a specific target client list in order to provide information to evaluate a possible recruitment need for a Managing Director and set a benchmark for the client’s organisation, one of the leading international transportation and shipping companies.
Solution
Our consultant assisted the client to prepare the job role and an in-depth candidate description was formulated. Operating on a retained basis, an executive search and business intelligence methodology was adopted.
Assisted by the in-house research team, 15 companies were identified, benchmarked and confronted with client’s needs implicated by the business model. The long list of selected candidates who might be relevant was prepared and presented to the client along with the consultant’s evaluation.
Result
Client received the complex information about the companies operating in their sector with the stress on job profiles presented by candidates holding similar positions. This resulted in taking the final decision on the job perimeter and continuing the process to the next stage.
